Mery Christmas and a Happy New Year! These days you can heard this sentence in the street, in the shops,… everywhere. The thing is whether we live these dates such as religious or traditional celebration or it is only a shopping pretext. Unfortunately, our society has become more and more materialistic and the citizens are important if they are able to buy a lot of things.
I like Christmas because it symbolises values like tenderness of a little child or solidarity between poor people. But, on the other hand, I hate Christmas because the consumption’s society makes us to waste our money and our time shopping and becoming crazy looking for a gift.
The custom of giving gifts to relatives and friends on a special day in winter probably began in ancient Rome and northern Europe. In these regions people gave each other small presents as part of their year-end celebrations-; nowadays, this custom goes up and it becomes a very great business.
That’s why I try to simplify Christmas –as possible as I can— by focusing less on stuff and more on connections with family, friends, fun, peace, and even a little rest and relax.

Hi everybody! С новым годом и Рождеством!
That means Happy New Year and Happy Christmas, yes, Christmas after New Year. In Russia, because of orthodox religion, Christmas day is on January 6th. Hey, that's another clue about my identity!!!. Il Kommentatore knows something about Russian (or knows someone who knows something about Russian).
I’ve been really busy during these last days and I've been disconnected from the blog activity so I haven't had the opportunity to wish you the best for the New Year. That's all by now.
Желаю вам счастья (I wish you happiness).
Hi Loles! Merry Christmas and Happy New year too. I have read your post and I include myself on the traditionalist’s group, but unfortunately, as you say, Christmas has become an appeal for enterprises. For me it´s a time for enjoy with the family and especially with kids (they live these days extremely excited), although in almost two weeks I have recover the weight I had lose in three months!!!!.
Well, about your comment about my English writing level, well, thanks, but don´t say “I wish I’d write as you” because you really write quite well (much better than me!). A very big truth that Nuria told us is that the only way to improve our writing style is WRITING and WRITING.
Well, see you, I must go. My daughter is waiting for me to go and see the Three Wise Men.
I really like what you say. I only enjoy Xmas because me and my partner have a little longer holidays and we can enjoy ourselves so much, that's all! but that spending money drives me crazy! What I love most is the dinner my mother prepares during the holidays... This is unbeatable!
She cares so much for all of us!
